Travers Thorp Alberga is pleased to announce that it is now ranked as the 13th largest offshore law firm in the 2013 Top 30 Offshore Survey published by The Lawyer magazine. The Lawyer notes that Travers Thorp Alberga enjoyed the highest revenue growth of any of the firms surveyed, and the firm is also singled out as “one to watch” in 2013. The survey also notes that the appointment of Anthony Travers, “one of the offshore market’s best-known names” as senior partner brought the firm “further into the limelight”. The Survey goes on to note that the leanness of the firm’s operation, which keeps costs low by not running a bulky support function and relying on partners being able to bring in work, makes a “compelling case for clients”. Anthony Travers is further quoted as saying “The market is reflecting the fact that the high-volume, low-profit model that formed the basis for the multi-office structure of the larger offshore law firm is probably broken for the foreseeable future. This places a premium on the firm that is able to add value on a realistic cost basis.”

This is the eighth edition of The Lawyer’s annual offshore survey, and the jurisdictions covered are the major Caribbean jurisdictions of Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and the Cayman Islands, Crown Dependencies Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man, and Gibraltar. Firms are ranked by number of partners and, in the case of a tie, by the number of qualified lawyers.
