Alla joins us from the Toronto office of a leading Canadian law firm as a Senior Associate in our Corporate, Banking and Funds Group.

Alla initially worked in the Ontario Securities Commission in the Office of the Secretary, the Derivatives Branch, and the Office of Superintendent of Financial Institutions and then moved to private practice focusing on M&A, private equity, real estate and debt financing transactions.

Alla advises investment, fund and wealth managers, dealers, financial institutions, administrators and prime brokers on all aspects of fund formation, debt and equity financing, private placement, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, registration and regulatory compliance. Alla’s specific focus is on structuring and launching open-end and closed-end funds, hedge funds, flow-through funds, pooled funds, segregated funds, ETFs, derivative-based transactions and other complex structures.

Alla is a long-standing advocate for the advancement of women in their professional careers, frequently guest lecturing on topics of corporate governance and women on boards. Alla was a member of the Board of Directors of Young Women in Law in Canada and the Women’s Leadership Programs committee of CREW, Toronto Chapter, was the Secretary to the Ontario Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors, and a member of the External and Joint Events Committee of Women in Capital Markets and the Women in Leadership network.
