Joanna Claydon-Voyce

Joanna, who joins us as partner in our corporate, banking and funds group, has over 20 years of corporate legal experience. Having qualified into the corporate and investment funds group at Herbert Smith, Joanna was seconded to their Hong Kong and then Bangkok office with overall responsibility for its corporate division.

Returning to London, Joanna acted as lead associate on several high-profile corporate M&A transactions before moving firstly in-house to AXA Investment Managers in a senior legal position, and then to Union Bancaire Privée, UBP S.A., London branch to establish their legal department and serve as General Counsel.

During her 10 years at UBP, Joanna had sole responsibility for the legal structuring and compliance aspects of all business conducted by the two UK-regulated entities: the dual regulated London branch of the Swiss private bank and its UK subsidiary and FCA regulated matched principal fixed-income broker entity for the UBP Group. Joanna’s experience spans a broad range of retail private and institutional banking, having advised on new fund structures and bespoke in-house structured products, commercial and retail real estate lending, and institutional asset management.

During her tenure at UBP, Joanna ultimately performed the role of Head of Legal and Compliance, as well as General Counsel, during which time she gained extensive experience of regulatory compliance and AML in addition to general commercial financial, litigation and employment law matters.
